Having Affairs

I don't understand why couples have affairs. I really think that if you are cheating on your spouse you are being dishonest with him or her. Dishonesty is a huge issue in marriages. Being dishonest with your spouse is being dishonest with yourself. Why would anyone want to live such guilt on their shoulders?



Here's my opinion: If you feel like your relationship is getting no where then notify your spouse and your intentions. You should never hurt the one's who love you the most. Your spouse is the first point of contact when something happens to you or your children. Your spouse is the one who you come home to every night (or should come home to). You made a promise to each other and to God that you will stay faithful to one another. Do you think that having an affair only affects you? It doesn't. It affects everyone, your spouse, your children, your family, your friends and not only does it make you look like a player but as someone who can't stay committed and co-workers might even frown upon your foolish acts. If you can't stay faithful to one person then be honest, stop playing with your spouse's heart and feelings. How about the one you are having an affair with? Don't you think he/she has feelings as well? How would you react if it was the other way around? Would you approve of your spouse having an affair with a co-worker? Stay faithful to your spouse, it makes you look like a wonderful parent and spouse and it's better to have people look up to you rather than frown upon you. Get some help if you feel like you can't stay faithful, try to spice things up in your marriage and find ways to fall back in love again and again with your spouse. Chances are, if you are having an affair you are not giving your spouse the right amount of attention she/he deserves and you have settled for less. Take a look again at your spouse, do you know everything about him/her? Take that time to get to know your spouse and find new ways to improve your love to each other. It's worth it.
