Children and Education

Raising children is never easy. I have always found myself in situations wondering what I should do or when am I going to teach them certain things. I've been very blessed to have my two children; they have made me proud and much more appreciative of things. My children have taught me to be patient, loving, caring, and gentle and more understanding. They teach me as much as I teach them. Children have such a wonderful imagination. They say silly things and do funny acts. When we raise our children to be moral and caring they are on the right way to be a wonderful adult and excellent future parents.

We need to teach our children every day, we should never lose out on an opportunity to tell them something new or show them something new. Even at age 18 we should continue to show them and guide them to make the right decisions in life so that they don't end up being in trouble all the time.
I can't stress enough that the values of family should always be carried on from generation to generation. When they grow up they should be proud to be parents, they should appreciate all the things we have done for them and be able to teach their own children good from right, ethical from unethical, happy from sadness. This doesn't mean however that we should be overly protective; they need to learn how to learn from their own mistakes, know that life isn't perfect.
They need to think for themselves and to be able to make the right choices without always having to go to mommy and daddy for everything. They also need to understand the consequences of their own actions and we must enforce discipline when they knowingly did something wrong and felt no remorse for their actions. If the parents are not able to enforce discipline then who will? You don't want to see your kids in the principals office all the time or be known as the trouble maker at school. You want them to succeed and its better that as parents we show them a better alternative to their life making decisions before it’s too late.
It’s never easy to teach them while they are away from home while at school. They might feel the need to cause trouble at school or choose the wrong group of friends. Having a good group of friends makes a huge difference to who they will be or how they will behave at school. That doesn't mean that what happens at school stays at school. We need to have good communication with the teachers as well their friends parents. The teachers also need to be open to talking and listen to you as well. If you have a teacher who doesn't care what your child will become then you need to switch classrooms. We need to trust our educators to be willing to help us teach our children when we are at work, to set the rules and enforce them and to assist the children who have learning difficulties.
However, we as parents must not leave all the teaching to the schools. You must create a learning environment at home, even if it’s for ten minutes a day. Really, how important is that television shows that you must ignore your children's needs or how important is that game you are playing that your children have to come second? Step up and be a parent, why else did you have children? Raise them, teach them, love them and appreciate them. They are carrying your name and you should be proud of your own genes. Take another look at your children; are they on the right track to becoming a responsible and mature adult?
